And i mean quick.
I am in Vancouver and staying with Karl and Leah. They live on Campus at the University of British Columbia, wich is about 15+ kilometers from the City and seperated from the Vancouver Suburbs by some serious bushland. The uni is like a mini town itself, with it’s own Hospital amongst other things. Anyway my point was i haven’t made it to the city yet, but will go in on Thursday probably to sort myself out with a social insurance number. Anyway i haven’t had time to sort a lot out and am borrowing this computer to get onto the UBC Network. With that in mind i will sign off for now with the promise of more to come.
I am alive, if only barely.

Update: Ok the campus probably isn’t 15ks but it seems like it. It’s about 20 minutes on a limited stop express bus.

Well it’s only two more sleeps till the big day. Since posting on Monday the old bedroom has already been transformed into the new guest room/sewing room. Looks like the old room is lost forever. Most of the stuff i wanted to keep has been moved to a self storage place in Mitchell. Now all that is left is a few random piles of clothing and two bags that don’t look like they will have any chance to actually fit all that stuff. Oh well i’ll just have to go back to the great mantra of Travelling.
“Lay out all the clothes you want to take and all the money you plan to take. Then halve the clothes and double the money.”
Lots of fun was had last Thursday night at All Bar Nun and then into the city for those that were left till what ever time it was we called it a night. Still going strong at about 3am were Karen, Danielle, Dwayne, Dave Hamer, lloydie and myself. Although i wasn’t going quite as strong yesterday. Also credit to Steve Hanley who turnede up for the second week in a row. This time he got the day right of course. I am working on putting some photos in my photo gallery but i am having a few teething problems with the gallery. Hopefully it should be fixed soon enough and they will be up there.
In the interim a few random pics from the other night. A few people might recognise lloydie from the infamous dancing incident at my 21st. What ever happened to that video???
For now it’s back to the packing.

7 days till departure…
This morning i have been going through my room working out what needs throwing out and what needs packing into boxes. On Wednesday I am moving a lot of stuff into a self storage place. I guess first of all will be the Futon and the bike case, then the boxes of assorted stuff. And there is so much of it. I have never known anyone to have so crap. What was i thinking accumulating all this junk. Although, some funny photos of times gone by have surfaced which make the task quite interesting. Although the bins are quite full. Hope it’s garbage night soon.
Finished up work on Friday. It didn’t really sink in until today when i slept past 7am in the knowledge that i didn’t have to go to work. The football at Manuka on Sunday was disappointing. The First half was great, but the boys really went to sleep in the third to let North Melbourne come back from 40 points down to win by 4. Disappointing way for the last AFL game i’ll see in a while to pan out, but i guess that’s the way it goes.
Got an email from Karl today saying the Heiden family had arrived in Vancouver, so my accomodation should be all systems go.
But for now it’s back to the mess of the room for a while before i head into town to have a farewell coffee with Coach.
